I came to Hello Sunshine as the Art Director in 2017. Hello Sunshine had been born just a few months prior out of Reese Witherspoon’s desire to create a company focusing on female stories and female driven content. I branded Hello Sunshine from scratch. I spent my first year creating and touching everything from logo, interior decorating our new office, building a complete brand guide, designing our website, animating graphics packages and making everyday social content across all platforms. My experience working within the parameters of a brand that I created has been filled with invaluable learnings and growth as I have evolved in parallel with the company.
Worked with Crate & Barrel to create the Hello Sunshine office infused with our brand. Custom wallpaper, murals, and a typewriter wall are just a few of the fun features included in this bright and colorful space.
These are the basic elements from which the Hello Sunshine brand was built. The logo was inspired by a classic 70’s motif that I felt represented the amplification of female voices, as well as the sunrise that inspired the company name. The color palette and font selection was chosen to evoke a fun yet sophisticated feeling.
